유령(Spectrum)의 소환
<유령의 소환>은 사진발명 이후 과거와 현재의 이미지 기술발전단계를 축약하고 과거의 기계발명과 현재의 기술발명의 변화가 어떻게 나타났는지 보여준다. 과거의 찍히는 자를 현재의 찍는 자이자 보는 자인 ‘나’를 투영해 유령을 촬영하는 자신 또한 유령(spectrum)으로 소환하며 미래의 사진에 대해 질문한다.
19세기 사진의 발명 이후 기록된 사후/초상사진을 수집 및 선정 후 AI를 활용하여 컬러를 복원하고 당시 현장을 프롬프트로 작성하여 아웃페인팅으로 재구성 한 뒤 빈티지 풍 액자에 넣어 ‘나’를 유리에 투영하여 촬영하였다.
새로운 기술이 만드는 시대적인 변화를 직접 체감하며 과거와 현재의 시대상과 사진기술의 상관관계가 반복된다고 느껴 미래에 사진의 역할은 어떻게 변화하고 나타날지 질문하게 되었다.
동시대 예술에서 나타난 생성AI출현의 영향과 사진매체의 활용에 대하여 과거와 미래기술의 관계 속에서 새로운 방향성을 찾아보고자 하였다.

<Summoning the Ghost> summarizes the past and present stages of image technology development since the invention of photography and shows how changes have occurred between past mechanical inventions and current technological inventions. By projecting ‘I’, the photographer and viewer of the present, onto the person being photographed in the past, I summon myself, who photographs the ghost, as a ghost (spectrum) and ask questions about future photography.
As I personally experienced the changes of the times brought about by new technologies, I felt that the correlation between past and present times and photography technology was recurring, and I began to question how the role of photography would change and appear in the future.
We attempted to find a new direction in the relationship between past and future technologies regarding the impact of the emergence of generative AI in contemporary art and the use of photographic media.
As I personally experienced the changes of the times brought about by new technologies, I felt that the correlation between past and present times and photography technology was recurring, and I began to question how the role of photography would change and appear in the future.
